Wtvrw solo : Simon is developing an autonomous modular solo live setup, creating sets that can be performed in a variety of contexts-from cafés and jazz clubs to festivals and nightclubs. this year, he is exploring how to build the system and integrate electronics (live looping, beats, samples,...) with his instruments, allowing for a flexible and open live structure.
WITVROUW, Four friends. Four characters. Many colors. An organic mix of sounds, poetry, and atmospheres from various musical galaxies. With plenty of room for improvisation, groove, and roots from jazz, blues, and funk. The four of them are no small names. WITVROUW consists of Simon Witvrouw (Mojostar, Billie Kawende), Joachim Saerens (Selah Sue, Bai Kamara Jr.), Dre Pallemaerts (Novastar, Melanie De Biasio), and Andrew Claes (Stuff, Stellar Legions). Each with their own character and color that come together in interaction with one another in a mix of funk, afro, jazz, blues, roots, pop, and reggae. “WITVROUW could never be WITVROUW without the combination, experiences, and influences of all four of us,” says driving force Simon Witvrouw.
